The Art of Multi-Tasking

Well folks I hope you are all good and getting ready for the Christmas. I’m sorry that this instalment is late but I’ve been a very busy bee on and off stage.   I’m also tweaking the look of the site so it may change a bit, my apologies for that.  I’m finding some of the themes a little buggy, so drafts are going missing and formats are not doing what they should etc…I’m still learning so please bare with me whilst I try to settle the design issues, having to use some code because the visual side is not doing what it’s supposed…Really though, I am not a programmer!!

Moving on, I can’t actually believe there are only 2 days left until Christmas now It’s insane, where has the year gone??   I feel completely unprepared for Christmas this year.
I hope you’ve all done better than I have with your Christmas shopping.   I’m very late this year getting my shopping done, usually I’m all done by November but not this year so I’m dreading going out there now to shop and pick up my last few pressies, I’ve got a few things but still need to shop for few bits.

Well I thought this week I would talk about the level of multi-tasking that goes on when you work for yourself, I’m sure that those of you who are business owners can identify especially at this time of year we all have to multi-task.

I found it quite amusing when one day whilst rehearsing at home for a show I was also cooking dinner, washing the dishes, doing the laundry, finalising contracts for a show and rehearsing all at the same time I laughed at myself. How amazing we are as human beings that we can do several things all at the same time and still do them well.  I felt like an octopus that day but I was well chuffed as I got through alot so the relaxation on the sofa afterwards was well earned and appreciated, but I don’t recommend doing this on a regular basis or it will drive you crazy!

I still have days where I wish I had a PA just to give a hand here and there when things are going crazy.  We will see what 2015 brings maybe I’ll get some help if things continue to grow.  So you see it’s not all glitz and glamour in the entertainment world but it is definitely a lot of fun and very interesting. No two days are the same and you never know who will be emailing or calling you and from what part of the world to discuss business.

When you are not on stage or flying here and there it’s very much a normal life with long hours lol, meetings, phone calls, emails, rehearsals. I’m not complaining though I love music and I love what I do.  Everyday is a blessing. 😀

Anyhoo here are some pics from what I’ve been up to since the last blog, enjoy.

My dinner whilst super multi-tasking, tasted yummy (it’s fish fillets and lots of veg)

Some pics from my various shows over the last few weeks.  Hanging out with my lovely & funny muso friends brings much joy and laughter whilst working.

Getting new toys for upcoming shows:   We got a new mixing desk and finally my own in ears system and microphone YAY!!. The In Ear Monitoring system helps me hear myself whilst singing (you put them in your ears like headphones and connect them to a pack which you clip onto your clothes) it’s a GOD SEND!!!  I really love it, really helps to save the voice when the sound on stage isn’t great.  It’s not the most expensive of these systems, but it certainly does the job well.  I’ve been using it for the whole of this month and it’s GREAT!!!   The LD System gets a big THUMBS UP from me. 🙂

My last words are do what you love and love what you do.  Everyday is a blessing so make it count.  Reach out for what you want and IT WILL COME to you.

Have a wonderful holiday and I wish you and yours a wonderful happy Christmas filled with love, laughter and peace.

Peace & Blessings

Tasita x 🙂
